This coffee is grown in the mountains of the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. Because of the dry, hot, winds that travel down from Mexico’s Tehuantepac plain, providing an extra heat layer in the mountains, coffee is able to be grown at higher altitudes with protection from frost. The coffee is grown at elevations of 5,000 – 6,500 feet above sea level.
There are many factors that can influence the flavors in coffee beans such as climate, elevation, soil, surrounding vegetation, just to name a few.
This particular coffee has tasting notes of milk chocolate, caramel, and roasted almond with a bright acidity.
