It’s been awhile since I have posted on the blog. My goal for 2019 is to be more consistent in posting. So much has happened over the course of the last few months that it has been hard to sit down and document it all. But one thing has remained consistent – God is Good!
We have faced a few hiccups along the way, whether it was the gas company taking forever to get the gas line run, or the busy plumber we waited on. We still have some venting pipe for the roaster that is on its way, but today is inspection day!
It is a day that I really expected to bring up feelings of anxiety and stress. But quite honestly, I am excited for this to happen! Regulation and inspections have been one of the things that I stumbled over in the past when I thought about starting up this shop. I was always scared to ask, scared to look for information, just simply overwhelmed by the whole process. But thanks be to God He has shown me once again that He is sovereign over all things. He has blessed me during this whole process with people at the county inspection office who have been helpful, friendly and encouraging. He is so, SO Good!
I’ve learned many things during this experience. But the most important lessons learned have been about the Lord and His faithfulness. So many times I stressed out and got hung up on details that were out of my control. He has taught me (repeatedly, because I am hard headed) that it is He who controls ALL things – even gas companies, plumbers and inspections. What I needed to learn (again and again) was to surrender whatever control I thought I had or that I thought I needed – to Him. He is the One who works all things according to the purpose of HIS will. Not mine. I spent (wasted) a lot of energy trying to bend things – other people, time frames, etc – to my will. It doesn’t work kids…it just doesn’t work.
I am beyond excited to see what is in store for 2019 and Mission Cup Coffee. The support, encouragement, and prayers we have received have been overwhelming and heartwarming. May God be glorified and His name known about the nations and may He use this tiny little coffee roastery/shop to accomplish His purposes. Praise be to the Lord.
